There seem to have been shootings out there recently and the barricades don't seem to be coming down. Is there any hope that the immigration office in CW will open again within our lifetimes?

Don't get me started. I pass through there twice a week to go to the supermarket. Pointless exercise. If they weren't there they wouldn't be getting shot at!

It is not going to happen any time soon in my opinion. And even if immigration gets access it will not open immediately.

I believe section of the building are open. But it will probably not open soon for the public, as there are safety concerns due to the protest site. I suspect they want to play it safe and keep the alternate locations open till the protest site as CW-road is abandon and at that moment CW road will be opened for business as usual.

Officials themselves don't know when they move to work back @ CW. I talk with them @ Ladprao 2 weeks ago, they tired, going to lunch in shifts, etc.
