Funny how the red shirt flag wavers have avoided the post cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif Paying the farmers is like the Plaguew00t.gif

They are like Thaksin - they don't care about the farmers except as political tools

rice pledging would have had to stop with entry in to AEC - so PTP would have lost the support of the genuine reds any way

that's why they want the election out of the way

Always this speak about RICE farmers.

Why nobody speak about RUBBER FARMERS, who were promised of Yingluck, for years ago they will get 135 THB per kilo, for the rubber.

The fact are the rubber prices were as low as 35-40 THB per kilo, only few weeks ago !

What at bullshit talk and promises of Yingluck.

WHY HAVE SHE LOT LEAVE YET ???

IT,s a pain for Thailand, to have this uncompetent woman in this position.

Better she start to clean the street,s in Bangkok !!!

The farmers know the yellow shirts are blocking payments... come election time, the farmers will help to vote a PTP backed party into power... again.

They possibly will vote for them again because they believe the lies told to them. The fact is the government ran out of money before the protests and forgot to organise their finances before calling the election. That's nothing to do with Suthep or the yellow shirts. They may have had an influence after that point but it's mainly down to the EC who have to interpret the rules rather than just help out the PTP.

I'm fairly certain that something could be sorted out between the caretaker government and the Dems to get at least some payment to the farmers but it would have to be done in a way that isn't used by the PTP for their electoral benefit. The trouble is yingluck gave a speech in which she blamed everyone other than her government for the problems so you can't expect hher to get much help.

According to the Department of Foreign Trade's director-general, Surasak Riangkrul, Vietnam offered the Philippines at an auction held on Tuesday a CIF (cost, insurance, freight) export price of US$440 per tonne for 15 per cent white rice, which is likely to kill Thailand's chance of exporting 800,000 tonnes to the Philippines at $475 per tonne CIF price. It is unlikely that Thailand can secure the bid as the price offered by Thailand is higher because 2-3 private Thai rice exporters proposed 5 per cent higher quality white rice. Vietnam will announce the auction result on April 23.

Why does the private sector need to get involved at all?
