CAPO defends its political comments, after public backlash

BANGKOK, 21 April 2014 (NNT) - The Center for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) has declared that political comments it made earlier were not intended to violate His Majesty the King’s royal prerogative.

The CAPO had made a series of comments regarding the political standoff within the nation, including a request that the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) and the Constitution Court be fair and transparent with Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, in her cases concerning the rice-pledging scheme and the transfer of the National Security Chief (NSC) Thawin Pliensri.

However, the CAPO also made a statement seeking to get His Majesty the King involved in solving the government’s problems. The comment sparked serious outrage from the public, as the Center's actions were deemed to have created a burden for the King.

Following that incident, CAPO Chief Adviser Surapong Tovichak-chaikul has spoken on his organization’s behalf, saying that the CAPO only intended to let Thai society move forward and had not intended to violate the King’s royal prerogative.

Regarding the independent agencies that lashed out at the CAPO earlier, Surapong said everybody is allowed to voice their opinions. However, CAPO’s remarks were only a suggestion that everybody abide by the rule of law. He also said that the CAPO is unsure whether the current rumor suggesting that ousted premier Thaksin Shinawatra plans to discontinue his political career is true or not.

In addition, the CAPO chief adviser has requested the Election Commission schedule an election date and for the Democrat Party to enter a general election, as well as persuading all sides not to obstruct any election that is scheduled to take place in the future.

Surely CAPO is supposed to be a kind of independent organization, not pushing the "ruling" party's political agenda. They should not be speaking "for" Pheu Thai.

They shouldn't be their, CAPO should be made up of professional personal , the leaders of this group wouldn't know the difference of a break out of measles and world war three.cheesy.gif

The CAPO instructed civil servants to voice no disagreement with government policy or face consquenses and then they put foot in mouth, again. Tthey might as well continue to speak for PTP, as they have since they were appointed to their highchairs and served their first solid food.

I do not know how divided the country really is in the quest for responsible government, but it appears the vast majority of the ruling government is set against displaying responsible behavior nor sactioning those groups that follow their lead. They have managed to shame Thailand with their antics and outbursts. and wonder why they are mistrusted and dispised by the good honest people. There are way more than one airhead in the makeup of this government but at least one is keeping a low profile, thus she is somewhat harmless.

One of the dictionary definitions for CAPO, is that it is a part of the Mafia organized crime family. The Capo is a captain and he reports to the boss, who intern reports to the Boss of Bosses. So is Chalerm a Mafia Boss, who reports to the Boss of Bosses? There for is the Boss of Bosses, big brother residing outside Thailand?

I've just added a 'probably' to account for the 0.000001% chance that the people complaining are those other than the groups I just pointed out.

" He also said that the CAPO is unsure whether the current rumor suggesting that ousted premier Thaksin Shinawatra plans to discontinue his political career is true or not. "

Here we go. Whenever things really heat up, Thaksin sends out signals of retirement from politics. I suppose one has to be grateful. They are the only public indications he has ever given that indicate even the slightest acknowledgement that he is a polarizing figure. Prior to the 2011 election, Thaksin said that he wasn't interested in political involvement. Such assurances were deemed " smart " at the time ( only to those that believed them ) because Yingluck was pushing the narrative that he would have nothing to do with her administration. At the time, Thaksin said he wanted to concentrate on his golf game ! So this rumour ( that his own cousin doesn't know is true or not, but wants you to know about it, just the same ) indicates that Thaksin thinks this line works each and every time, knowing of course that in Isaan, people who bring this up never will fail to do so without a lot of knowing winks and snickers around the table.

How about pinging rich teacher. Maybe if you give him the numbers he can make a nice graph. That would be impressive.

Tarit clearly announced that their intention was to include HMK into a compromising position.... His words were not a suggestion, but a declaration of intent, and now CAPO are backpeddling, or should I say PTP are... which basically what CAPO is made up from..... PTP ministers and Tarit.

These people are famed for having zero respect for the monarchy as they bend to Thaksin's every will, and we all know what he thinks of the monarchy don't we.

The politicians must clean up the mess they have made and leave HMK alone to enjoy his life instead of trying to drag him into the crap that THEY made.

The Thai folk will NOT accept it.

Can someone please explain to me what the tasks and duties of the CAPO are? I mean with "Center for the Administration of Peace and Order" it would seem strange that their chief advisor 'requests' the E.C. and the Democrats on an election ermm.gif

It seems apparent that CAPO was set up in an attempt to give a impression of legality to a drunk, a cousin, and a lap dog, by a group who has found that they have their tits in a wringer and will use any means to hold on to power.

CAPO seems to operate like the, for hire, strike breakers of the late 1800's, early 1900's. They know they operate outside the law and its intent, but as long as the money is paid/promised they have no qualms to use any and every trick, legal or not, to get what the boss wants.

According to your definition a more apt name couldn't have been chosen!!!

CAPO stands for Chalerm's Amateur Police Organisation, doesn't it!!

There is an approximately 0.000001% chance that you may actually make a post one day that has some rational and critical thought that may actually be thought provoking and worth spending 5 seconds to read it.....

CAPO Chief Adviser Surapong Tovichak-chaikul has spoken on his organization’s behalf, saying that the CAPO only intended to let Thai society move forward

...yes khun Chief Advisor, Thai society is absolutely thrilled by your permission to let it move forward, even though it's only half a centimeter, the society is very grateful: "Thank you, thank you Mr. Surapong, for not making us move sideways or backwards again. Half a centimeter in he right direction is something we haven't seen in ages! Three cheers for Surapong, a true Thai benefactor!"

Surapong said that the CAPO is unsure whether or not Thaksin Shinawatra plans to discontinue his political career. What political career? Hasn't he been residing overseas for the last 6 years, or so, hence unable to follow a political career path? Hasn't his sister denied Thaksin's influence in her 'decision' making, and on that of PTP and the yet-to-be elected caretaker government?

here is fair and transparent.

You Yingluck are an idiot puppet of your brother Thaksin,

everyone in Thgailand knows that.

You have squandered your Country Thailand in a continuing effort to prop up your corrupt family regime

You can not pay the rice farmers you bought in election

You can not pay your agreement on new cars you bought in election

You tried to rig the Senate

You tried to give Amnesty to your criminal brither

You tried to borrow 2 trillion dollars for your own corrupt benefit

Your Ministers are idiots and liars, most notable

You are a disgrace in the international community Yingluck

You are forever shamed , your family has stained Thailand

Thailand will recover but you will not
