when do I need to inform immigration of new address?

Featured Replies

We have just done our 90 day reporting in Chiang Rai. Moving to new address in Krabi next week. Do we need to inform Krabi immigration of change of address or wait until next 90 day reporting?

Many thanks

Waiting until the next 90 day report is acceptable at many offices. Others may want you to submit a TM28 change of address form (http://immigration.go.th/nov2004/download/pdf/tm28.pdf ).

If convenient it might be worth while to fill one out and stop by immigration in Krabi to see what they say.

Cheers thank you. Sound advice

I filed a T.M.28 when I moved to Jomtien several years ago. As a bonus, they re-started my 90-day clock. That made me feel good about doing the right thing.

I think legally speaking it should notified within 24hrs.

I have changed address a few times and been tardy, waiting a week or more, with no repercussions.

Hi everybody. Really helpful replies. Shall visit immigration as soon as we arrive.

Hello TV peeps and mods,

I too am changing my address. I am moving about 1km and will still be in the same amphur. Should I wait till the 90 day (May 24) or go sooner? That would be the Nakon Pathom imm. office.

A lot can depend upon your immigration office's policy.

Since you are not making a move that will not change the immigration office you report to I would say just do the change when you do your next report.
