April 22, 201412 yr Hello all. Does the BTS start time (Sukhumvit Line) of 6am mean that the first train leaves Mo Chit at 6am or are there trains already stationed along the line so as to minimize wait times? My friend has to be at On Nut to pick up a visa run transport between 06.30 and 06.45 and will go from Victory Monument, so will she have enough time to make it? Thanks.
April 22, 201412 yr BTS now starts at 05:00, I'll see if I can find a link for this but I am staying next to a BTS station at the moment and I have seen the signs about the early starting times at the station entrance.

April 23, 201412 yr Not too much off topic.... On the other duplicate listing, asanee made a great & clear posting about BTS and the bus system. I wonder if he (or anyone else) can point to an idiot's guide on how to use the bus system for someone who can't read (or speak much) Thai. If so, I'm sure many, many people would appreciate it! Thanks.

April 24, 201412 yr The critical factor in catching an early BTS train is not when the trains start running but when the stations open. For example before the recent change of start time, trains would start moving into position well before 6.00 am. Sala Daeng station would open at 05.50 am so you could actually catch one of the earlier trains before 6.00 am. Now with the earlier start time I read that the station would open earlier but the 'ticket office' would not be manned until later (6.00 am?). But since the ticket office does not actually issue tickets I am not sure if the ticket machines will be switched on. However people with Rabbit cards would be able to pass through the barriers.

Good point and yes. she will have her travel pass loaded and ready.
