90 Day Report And Re-Entry Permit

Featured Replies

90 DAY REPORT AND RE-ENTRY PERMIT ON SAME DAY?
I have a retirement visa that expires in mid-August.
I will do my last 90 day report at the beginning of May before leaving Thailand for a month in the beginning of July.
Will return to Thailand before visa expires and will "renew" it when I return.
So, I need a re-entry permit.
Questions:
Can I get the re-entry permit at the same time I do my 90 day report in May?
Or do I need to get it closer to my actual departure date (beginning of July)?
Do I need any evidence of my return date such as flight itinerary?
Any other information or warnings or procedures I have incorrect is much appreciated.
Thanks

You can do your re-entry permit at any time you want. Many people get them on the same day they apply for their new extension of stay (not a visa).

There is no need to show any tickets or any thing else other than some passport and TM6 departure card copies. The departure and return dates mean nothing and you can put what ever you want on the form (some offices allow you leave them blank) as long as your return date is equal to or earlier than the date your extension ends. The re-entry permit stamp they put in your passport will only have the date it was issued and the date it expires (same as your permitted to stay date).

A re-entry permit costs 1000 baht for 1 one time use, or you can get multi entry for 5000 baht upto 5 times use. You travel when you want as long as you return before the expiry of your visa.

A multiple re-entry permit costs 3800 baht and there is no limit on the number of entries.

Both a single and multiple re-entry permit will be valid for the length of the permit to stay they are issued for

It is not possible to get a re-entry permit for a visa.

Has the cost gone down? those are the costs listed in the local immigration office!

Is this a new development, a multi entry permit being restricted to 5 times? Before you could use it, well, multiple times.

It has been the same for years and there is no limit on the number of entries.
