I live in Jomtien. Are there any pubs in Jomtien or Pattaya that play blues,soul, jazz or Motown on a regular basis?

The blues factory on walking street use to be pretty good, but not sure now. Leos Blues Bar in Naklua is a great place to hang out. Lots of locals visit there and Leo is really nice.

I think it's not for lack of demand. I think the lack is due to repeated police hassles in places with foreign entertainers.

Witnessed something related last night in a bar that will go unnamed. A Filipino band of two do pretty good renditions of 70s, 80s popular tunes. They stopped dead when a Pattaya officer rolled by and, looking into the the busy wide-open bar, he stopped immediately in the middle of the soi. He kept staring, listening and looking around. Suddenly bar boss and managers went into action. The boss literally ran to the Thai manager, who immediately jumped up and headed toward the cop who was already talking to a girl on the street but I was unsure if she worked there. Anyway, the Thai manager turned around to the band and told them they can continue and he went back to his stool. I'm guessing the cop couldn't tell if the singers were Thai or foreigners. Probably mentally adding up the "fine". Anyway, I'm pretty sure the bar was covered by proper permits "etc" and the Filipinos live and work in Pattaya.

As far as I know he hasn't, also never seen him in there.
