Online Money Transfer?

Featured Replies

I used to be able to simply transfer money from my bank account to my accountant's trust account because we used the same bank. But I just discovered that they've changed banks, and I had another learning curve.

I have now transferred money from my bank account to my accountant using the Interac system, as it went to her email address with the confirmation number and a security question. The fee for this was Cdn$1.50, less than 45 baht.

If there's a failure in it, I can sort it out as I'm in Canada right now, but …..

I do have online banking with my Canadian bank; I do have online banking with Bangkok Bank.

So, I'm wondering if I could do the same thing to get money into Thailand - from my desk there in Ban Phe, connect online to my Canadian bank, send an Interac transfer to my own email address with my own security question, and then deposit in online into my Bangkok Bank account.

Much cheaper than using the ATMs, and if it works, even more efficient.

Anyone doing this, done this, comment on the possibilities?

i use XE...which works very well for International Exchange/Transfers. They have an excellent track record. Takes 7 to 10 days and costs about 22 dollars....but can send quite a bit.

From some googling it appears Interact is a "within Canada only" transfer system with X-amount of participating financial organizations shown at this Link.
