mate, it is a cocoon for a catepillar to do his big tranformation into a butterfly. We have them in Australia, they biuild it then drag it up to a higher position and attach it then crawl inside, seal it up then do their thing.

This is another view when the homeowner came outside his house.

I guess it's some kind of caterpillar but I sure don't know.

So me great bugs here, I saw this luminous metallic green one yesterday.

Spot on and they are extremely tough.

Does any one know what Insect this is?

I would think a shield bug,a sap sucker.
