Urgent warning re traffic hazzard

Please be advised that the rear trailer from one of those huge lorries that carry gravel or similar in 4 x "hour glasses" has been abandoned at the bottom of the first big hill from Lamai heading towards Chaweng. No attempt has been made to advertise the fact that it's there & I fear someone will die if it isn't illuminated or removed ASAP. When I drove past it had just turned dark (1855hrs) & this monstrosity was invisible.

Thanks, you should have tell police or something, mate, especially if you think it is so dangerous someone could die.

I wouldn't worry in 45 minutes time everyone will safely tucked up at home.

Given the proximity of the nearest police post I would hope that they had either stumbled upon it at the same time or were already aware. Posting here enabled me to enlighten a far greater audience at the earliest opportunity but i take your point.

What is the point in telling the police?

They have limited resources and are unable to 'keep the law as stated' on Samui.

A few years back there were some roadworks on the road going into Bangrak. There was a barrier in front of the roadworks - unlit at night.

In the darkness, a Thai riding a motorbike came steaming down the road and straight through the barrier and into the roadworks. Big mess.

I called the police, explained what happened andI suggested that something should be done about the problem. They said that they would get an ambulance there as soon as possible!!! The road works stayed - unlit.

Well done bigdave. My personal view is that your post would has more of a chance of saving a life than calling the police???
