When will Channel News Asia TV learn to respect Thailand?

Featured Replies

Many like me, who are viewers of foreign TV channels will be indeed puzzled, and at times even annoyed to see that Channel News Asia TV televised from a ASEAN neighbour is deliberately

misrepresenting facts about the happenings within Thailand, as also deliberately imposing their own

partisan views on the viewers . I pity those living in this neighbouring country who only watch this

channel to get their day to day news. Most of the Reporters shown on this foreign channel are hostile . I wonder they are paid for to relay such hostile reports.

Unfortunately, Thailand is not having an OFFICIAL THAILAND NEWS CHANNEL IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE , if I am correct in my understanding. If I am correct, how are we going to project the

correct facts about the current developments in our country and counter the anti-government propaganda by these hostile foreign TV channels from ASEAN neighbours.

However, not all European TV news channels are as bad as this TV channel from our ASEAN neighbour..

bad news sells newspapers, have you not learnt this yetwink.png

Maybe they think Thailand has to EARN RESPECT before it is given and you do not earn respect by staging 12 Coups in the past 30 years and removing the people voice.

There is NEVER an excuse and respect can never be given when a democratic country is taken over my a Military Junta

4-3-2.....

For selling thier newspaper and getting High TRP rating they can do anything, the only thing i tell you that is don't read and see thier newspaper and tv channel.

Interesting first post OP, but you may not know that Aljazeera and Australia Network have aired far more wide ranging critisism of the situation in Thailand, even discussing, in detail, the REAL reasons behind why we are where we are today. BBC,CNN et al are banned, read into that what you will.

I would trust Channel News Asia on this situation a lot more than a Thai channel. I think that their reporting has been better than any other channel on recent Thai politics, but I only watch it every now and then and am not an expert on the subject.

Aah another first time poster, welcome, I hope that you will enjoy the free and open debate that we have here. Feel free to offer your thoughts, we are all greatly interested.

OP please be specific with at least three examples?

It's great that a load of non-Thai speaking foreigners think a Junta is good for Thailand.

But a little question for all of you, what Junta in any other country ever worked out well for the countries people?

Please name one?

To be fair, there only appears to be one guy running things at the moment, so maybe you should consider Military dictatorships as well.

CNA is from the 155th press of singapore. That's how low the ranking of singapore's press is on reporters without borders.

+1 very good point. CNA is also mainly seen in Singapore and China and Singapore is known to show news of neighbouring countries as unstable countries. CNA is in fact very careful what they broadcast in China. You seldom will see any negative reporting on CNA about China because CNA has a distribution agreement and is available all over China.

All in all CNA is a rubbish channel and I seldom look at it.

Well it's well known among the netizens of singapore how low the ranking of singapore's press standing is on reporters without borders and their rankings are really good because they give the true ranking of a country's press based on how unbiased they are. It's a given fact that all countries presses will be biased but somehow it tends to be less bias in western countries i suppose on most issues.

SG's press also loves to focus more on neighbour malaysia's crime rates to discourage singaporeans from looking at their neighbour as an alternative to retire or migrate for example.

I don't know about their relationship with china but i won't put it past them to actually have very bias reporting on news in china. Actually china controls it's news very tightly but let's not bother about that in this forum.
