moving back to UK - advice needed on exporting our dogs home

Featured Replies

Hi we are moving back to UK with our two small dogs. I have contacted relevant gov body in UK for details of requirements. Currently we live in Krabi and will be flying back with Thai air with dogs as excess baggage, as we used this method to fly out of uk about a year ago with no problems as they are on the list of approved airlines.

Has anyone had the experience of taking their dogs back to the UK? Both our dogs microchipped in uk, and we have records of this. Both dogs had rabies vaccination in UK and this is still valid for another year. We have been advised by UK to have blood test done by vet here for rabies titre levels and this must be , sent to approved UK lab. We can then fly after 3 months from date test done. It also mentions that all blood tests, results, microchip info should be entered on to a 'third country health form' by approved EU vet. This is the bit I am confused about?. Have emailed Suvarnambumi airport and waiting for reply. There is no information on the Livestock website in Thailand for export, only info on importing dogs to Thaland. We are aware they need tapeworm treatment prior to flight.

Pm send. :)

many thanks for the helpful information including thread. As my dogs were vaccinated for rabies in UK and micro chipped there, my vet in UK is sending signed and stamped copy of their medical records, which states microchip number and rabies vaccine, including number and date given and expiry date. So I hope this will be acceptable. I am not certain about import duty liable in UK, as we bought our dogs in UK and are returning with them. I have contacted dynamicaircargo and asked them if these documents acceptable, awaiting reply and also estimate for our dogs. Will keep this thread updated, so it may help anyone else who is thinking of relocating back to UK.
