World oil price hike will force gasoline prices in Thailand to rise above 30 baht per litre

Caretaker Energy Minister Viset Chupiban (วิเศษ จูภิบาล) sees that gasoline prices can not stay below 30 baht per litre given the continuing rise in world oil prices.

Mr. Viset said the Energy Ministry is promoting the use of alternative fuel, including NGV.

Mr. Viset said not many vehicles have switched to NGV but the number should increase after the expansion of pumps that sell NGV in the next few months.

He said PTT Plc. should draw 7 billion baht from its Fuel Fund to finance the installation of NGV system in cars itself as commercial banks are very strict in providing loans for that purpose

they are!!!!!

oil-prices are set by the bilderberg group. They just gathered recently... so i guess they decided (again) to put the oil-prices in the lift...

My question is, how long before the economies of the world collapse to this madness.

While I don't have a chart comparing fuel prices to oil prices, for political reasons they capped fuel prices when oil was considerably lower today, subsidizing it for the interim hoping prices would go down.

When oil was $25/barrel, gas was B20/Liter; oil has gone up 2.5x but gas only 1.5x. In the US, prices have gone up about 1.6x five years ago prices, but a much larger portion of the original gas price was taxes before and they haven't gone up comparably.

Is it the same "triste sire" that was very confident last april that the gasoline price would never go beyond 30 THB per liter ?

Some call that a "reality check". Other "pre elections bullshit".

Eventually, the result is the same.

At 70 USD (the current level) the gasoline in Thailand should be already above 30 THB.

They were thinking they could play with time... Unfortunatly, oil is still at high level of price. So now, it's "check bin" time.

Make no mistake : now you now what will be the price this summer in Thailand when US will experience a few hurricanes...

Energy Minister is still considering on whether the ministry will float LPG prices

Energy Minister Viset Choopiban (วิเศษ จูภิบาล) would like to consider the LPG price situation before deciding to float its prices.

He said that the Ministry of Energy is still considering whether it will float the LPG prices. He said that the ministry has not begun to lessen the amount of compensation for the Oil Fund yet. The ministry is supporting the Oil Fund with a financial budget worth 500 million baht every month. He reasoned that the ministry still holds the implementation as it does not want to people to bear more financial burdens.

Speaking about the situation of fuel prices, he said that the prices will stay high and fluctuant. He said the oil prices will not be raised this week as the conflicts in Iran are subsiding.

As per post #5, the Energy Minister Khun Whatsit was saying the mantra, "It's impossible to reach 30 baht" as late as a mere 4 weeks ago... on the 18th of May... when it was ALREADY over 30... as per the other thread.

Translation: We'd really like to know whether we can delay floating the LPG price until after the upcoming election... whenever that is.

If you use the basic minimum wage ratio in comparison to over "ere....and allow for 20bt hour/£5-00 (N.M.W) then the poor old Thai working man is paying our equiv.of £7-50 a litre for the stuff..

We are complaining because its costing us almost £1 a shot......but at £7-50......there would indeed be "Rumblings..."
