The death is mysterious because there were no signs of being attacked or robbed. SAMUI – June 6, 2014 [PDN]: at 19.00, Pol.Lt.Col. We all go to Fantasy land to enjoy all it has to offer but we must always be very careful not to trust anyone and to avoid taking unnecessary risks with unknown drugs and unknown persons . I'm sure that his family and friends back in Oz are relieved that the headline and story say that he was found dead at a "luxury resort". If the journalist had simply said that the man had been found dead in an hotel room, it would have been all too easy, for those who like to gossip and speculate, to assume that it must have been a cheap hotel and therefore, by implication, that he must have been a sex tourist. Of course, working girls do get invited back to plush hotels, but most readers of this story and headline, which will probably be copied verbatim by the Aussie newspapers, are likely to give him the benefit of the doubt on the information provided so far. I doubt whether lessons have been learnt regarding from the outcome of the two Canadian girls who died on Phi Phi island several years back. The use of herbicides could again be the root cause. Perhaps he had a stroke or a massive heart attack or OD'd. Why is it when someone dies especially here people are so quick to point the finger? Deaths like this bring a very bad name to Thailand and scare away tourists , so the police must investigate how and when he died. Most unlikely to have suicided on sleeping pills! But we should not have to speculate on the cause of death.
