Powdered milk production plant will be set up with a loan worth 1.35 billion baht

The cabinet has given a green light to the Dairy Farming Promotion Organization of Thailand (DFPOT) to secure 1.35 billion baht in loan for the setting up of a powdered milk production plant.

Government deputy spokesman Danuporn Punnakan (ดนุพร ปุณณกันต์) said domestic production will help cut imports of powdered milk and add value to raw milk produced by Thai dairy farmers.

Mr. Danuporn said the Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry reported to the cabinet yesterday that Thailand’s milk production has increased by 10-15% every year while consumption risen by about 6% per year.

Powdered milk is used for the production of other dairy products.
