June 20, 201411 yr Curious as this is like the 3rd one I have seen like this. Not a slight against Ducati or monsters but I was curious why on all 3 two 795 monsters & this Stripe That the fork shears off at the headstock Maybe it is designed as such to save frame from further damage? What do you think? But in all three I have seen bike is for the most part not bad off This one for instance looks like he center punched a scooter But still surprised that the fork shears off
June 20, 201411 yr Ouch! I hope the riders are OK! I don't think any street bike on the market has been specifically designed for crashing. If you're interested in things that happen to bikes when they crash go to the Kawasaki dealer and look at the bike graveyard in the garage. It's awful. And you'll ride much slower on your way home.
June 20, 201411 yr Author Hahah yes I have seen the graveyard with a wince Always a few with such low miles on them I feel sorry for the owners Speaking of Kawasaki I have seen many road totaled Er6's I note in their case the fork stays on but a leg of the fork is usually snapped off or even seen a few where the lower leg has come off but the upper still in the clamp intact. But yes one thing we are not short of in Thailand is crash scenes as they have no qualms about showing pictures of the gore. I really hate coming up on those & then realizing too late what I am looking at
June 20, 201411 yr You have seen the way locsls pilot their 125cc scooters. Why is it so suprising thaf when they get a larger more powerful model (mo matter the brand) they still have lots of accidents ? Poor training, little caution and less road sense = accident.
June 20, 201411 yr I have seen a monster 795 accident photo with a broken fork same as this one too. Maybe it s all about monster riders colliding the same way all the time. Or weak assembly or components but maybe just coincidence.
