USA $100 Bill

Featured Replies

Has anybody had any problems exchanging the new USA $100 bills?

I imagine the banks would rather receive the new ones than the old ones.Harder to counterfeit.Well so far anyway.

Nope. They have all the updated specs/pictures. no issues

did it a few times, different places, never had any issues

Not trying to be a smart ass, but how new is new. Seems like they are always changing them, and having not been to the states in quite some time I couldn't tell what the latest and greatest version looks like. But had a friend bring me some money last month ($100 notes appeared pretty new) and no problems both at the bank and the exchange booths

They want the new $100 bills, and if you have an old series, especially if it is dirty or soiled, they will check the old series much more closely than the new ones.

Back in the 1980's and into the early 1990's the Iranian government was actively counterfeiting U.S. $100 bills and circulating them in the middle east .... which is where the distrust of $100 bills started.

But that is no longer the case, and most of those bills have been withdrawn from service long ago anyhow now.
