On A 3 Month "o" Visa But Need To Leave

Featured Replies

I just got a 3 month Non immigrant "O" visa in Signapore but now I need to leave LOS before I will have the chance to apply for the extension. I will return in a month. Is all I need to do is get a re-entry permit before I leave and apply for the extension when I return?

Do I need to get the permit in the immigration office or at the airport?

How much time needs to be on the visa to be eligible to apply?

I will be rotating in and out of LOS monthly for the most part so Will I need to purchace a reentry permit each time I leave? Can I get a multiple re entry permit this time I leave that will apply to my 1 year once I get that?

Thanks!

If your original permitted to stay will still be valid after your return you can obtain the re entry permit to keep it alive and it is available in Terminal 1 of the airport, but only after you have received your boarding pass. So check in early and go there before you enter the immigration area. Or better still visit an immigration office and obtain early and not have to worry about it. Cost is 1,000 baht.

You can get a multiple-reentry permit, allowing unlimited exit/entries as long as the visa is valid. I think the price is double that of a single-entry. I think you'll have to get that from Immigration (not airport).

Actually it is almost 4 times the price at 3,800 baht and he only has less than 90 days so it would probably be overkill at this point - after he gets his yearly extension of stay it may make sense if he plans frequent travel.

Ouch! Last I got one I am sure it was 1,000 for the multiple-entry and 500 for the single entry, assumed the difference was the same just more.

if I can't apply the permit to the 1 year extension I plan to get next month there is no reason to get the mulltiple. I wish I would have done my homork a little more because I had the option of getting the multiple entry "O" when I got my visa. I think that would have saved me a lot of time and hassle while applying for the 1 year extension.

thanks for the info guys
