Haha nice one impulse.... Yeah, I love these low post count rabid defenders

of all things regarding China. Not really sure if >>>>>>

1. They are pure bred Chinese defending the mother land against all criticism

just on general principles.

2. Deeply deluded farangs that never read the news and actually have no idea

what China is actually doing.

3. Are part of a group of people in a boiler room either in China or Thailand,

who are paid to attack any negative comments about China on internet boards.

In any event, always amusing to trade barbs with them.. wai2.gif

actually sorry to burst the bubble for any Americans.

.not that they'd believe me anyways..

China's territory demands or potential conflicts is part of the western media - link to US government - link to Corporations that China is the aggressor when it's the US aggression pushing it's friends like Japan * Philippines.

China would be as a good trading partner as any of the other western outlets..

They want cheap raw materials for their manufacturing base.

Maybe you should take a look at what is going on in Vietnam. The US is not involved in that at all.

There is talk of setting up an America base in Vietnam . Think it is part of the

strategy of Vietnam to stave off China. Will be funny to hear the howls of outrage

from China if it actually happens.

so the more posts one has denotes more intelligence?

I am not pro china or pro american..it's history I'm concerned with...

re. Thailand I'm sure they will have a balance between america & the west and with china..

Not much will change the US still needs Thailand to be part of it's sphere.

I couldn't help shaking my head when I read the USA, Australia, and the EU cancelled their military exercise with Thailand. In the first place, what's the military exercise to prepare and aim for? It certainly ain't for fighting off aliens from another planet!

One just can't help but think of this delusion of grandeur of those who cancelled the exercise who seem blinded in order to force upon their self-righteous values upon others!

Vietnam today is one of the most pro American countries in Asia..which one might be surprised after the Vietnam war...but there are centuries of mistrust between Vietnam & China.

There is good trade relations so to say the US is not involved at all could be naive.

I spent a three weeks traveling north Vietnam by myself on a small motorcycle . Invariably,

no matter where I was , local people would ask where I was from. I would hesitantly answer

America. They would then smile and say no problem. I would then ask if they were still angry at

America. They would look at me like I was crazy, and tell me that was a long time ago and did

not matter anymore. Which makes perfect sense. After all , how many Americans are still pissed

off at Britain over the time they sacked the White House in 1812 ??

So China, who antagonizes all its maritime neighbors by claiming the entire South & East China Seas (and their resources), plus a ridiculous new ADIZ that overlaps Japan's long established one, gets invited to RIMPAC, while Thailand, a long-time ally, gets snubbed & Cobra Gold participation cancelled because the Army takes over temporarily to try & avoid failed state status but is guilty of no human rights violations or abuses (as China routinely is).

The Obama foreign policy genius at work...

I'd say the converse is actually more important. All of SE Asia needs the USA in its sphere.

Frankly, if SEA fell off the map, the USA would miss exactly what?

If the USA gave up on SEA, China today is building up the capability to run roughshod over the entire neighborhood in their thirst for territory, energy and raw materials. (And revenge for centuries of humiliation at the hands of western powers who ran roughshod over China)
