1.This relates to an ATM inside a supermarket*.

2. I didn’t received any money yet received an SMS confirming the transaction had succeeded and that a deduction was registered on my a/c.

3. Head office acknowledged my complaint & gave a reference number. They said that they would respond “within 10 business days”.

4. As the ATM is indoors/on camera & used regularly I do not suspect foul play. The likely cause will probably be electrical or end of month demand.

We saw and HEARD an ATM "WAILING" long and loud at Airport Plaza last week.

The Security Company guys were there apparently trying to change the Cash Boxes and something went wrong.

The ATM was obviously "offended" with whatever it was and SCREAMED, while shoppers stood and had a good laugh till the sound of the alarm became too much for them and they wandered off, allowing the "security" people to try and find their Lost Faces.

I have had the same issue one time and it was corrected by the bank before the 10 days period was up. However the bank did not contact me back stating that they had done so. Good luck.

General warning of what? Mechanical failure happens. Usually if an ATM has a problem it will put itself out of action, otherwise there's no way this warning would prevent what happened to the OP happening to anyone else.

I once put two slices of bread in my toaster, but it wouldn't toast. I recovered eventually.

a) Ensure everyone has their parent banks' emergency number to hand &

b ) That they have access to a Thai speaker to minimize any misunderstanding @ a)
