I have a bank account with Bangkok bank, I'm living in Thailand and don't have a UK bank anymore, tax man has sent a cheque to my sisters in UK, if she sends it on to me can I put it in Bangkok bank to clear?

Certainly can!....But unlike in the west it will take anywhere from 3-6 weeks to clear. Have in the past deposited "personal" checks into my account with no problems other than the time to clear.
