I will be going to Chiangmai Immigration soon to apply for my first extension to stay based on retirement as I am nearing the last 30 days of my current visa. I am currently on a Non-Immigrant O visa (90 day, single entry).

I also will be applying for a Re-entry permit (single).

I will have all the necessary documentation and forms TM7 and TM8.

Is it possible to do both of these at the same time? By that I mean at the same window or will I need to get in two different queues?

Any tips you might have would be appreciated to make the process as smooth as possible.

Thank you.

Don't know how busy CM is. In pattaya you will have to que anywhere 1.5- 2 hrs. In Sriracha its 10 minutes for both. If you have all documents in order the intake is less than 5 minutes. You have to come back next days to collect your passport. When you arrive to do that tell the person at the info desk that you will apply for a re-entry permit so that you get a quecard. Go to the desk of the retirement visa and show them the quecard they gave you the day before to pick up your passport. Go outside and make a copy if the stamp they put in your passport. Then wait for your number for the re-entry permit. When it's your turn it's also less then 5 minutes. Then wait to pick up your passport.

The price of an multiple re-entry permit is 3800bt. Maybe better just in case you have to travel unexpectedly. Make sure you check if all is correct.

So 2 different ques.

Good luck
