petsoul Posted June 27, 2006 Author Posted June 27, 2006 hm.. by ditching i mean selling her.. not killing her..
Pink Mist Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 I reckon you could sell the dog in a villiage near Sakhon Nakhon
bina Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 u dont breed when she's bleeding, u count days after and then breed every other day; shell be more receptive to the stud;its not her period, its her first part of the menstrual cycle bitches get.... and she may be bleeding every day with out u noticing since they lick themselves constancly when in heat, so keep her in one area and check the floor for spotting, etc.... if she is a virgin and the stud is a virgin, it might not happen also; best when the stud or the bitch is experienced as well as the person handling them leave them together in a closed area for awhile w/o your prescense, this often makes the bitch uneasy (she has to protect u from a strange dog and so is busy and not receptive); often a stud might not like spectators for same reason... try to put them together but separated and see what happens if she sits squatted (flattens herself so he cant get in) lift her and help the stud bring them to a neutral area and turn them lose (no other dogs can assess her or fight him, preferably an empty tennis court or soething fenced in) and see what happen READ THE INTERNET ABOUT BREEDING
petsoul Posted June 27, 2006 Author Posted June 27, 2006 I reckon you could sell the dog in a villiage near Sakhon Nakhon Why Sakhon Nakhon? Poos shasha.. Why won't she mate??
bina Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 did u not read what i wrote??? after she finishes bleeding she will be willing; u can check by scratching above her tail and she will swivel her tail sideways, and also her bottom (offerring herself more or less) no dirty coments from members about monks (see other thread )
petsoul Posted June 29, 2006 Author Posted June 29, 2006 did u not read what i wrote???after she finishes bleeding she will be willing; u can check by scratching above her tail and she will swivel her tail sideways, and also her bottom (offerring herself more or less) no dirty coments from members about monks (see other thread ) I did not, I just saw it today, strange huh? Hm.. I gave up already and will wait for her next period.. I've of course read some about breeding by googling, we've tried several ways, and what happened is, when the stud get on top of her, she lower herself, so he's doing it on top of her back. When we try to lift her up they seperated. It's really difficult, the situation when we did this is with 3 other dogs in their crates. We've tried putting my dog and her stud in a crate as well with me not being there, but nothing happened, they just lay back there doing nothing. Whenever the stud try to get on top of her, she would bark back, and the stud would get scared and leave. Shasha is about 5 years old and already breed before, the stud is a young one about 1.5years, never mate before. Does this explains all that happened?
bina Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 could be.... it could be she just doesnt like him.... my bitch refused her life long partner and preferred the outsiders (lady and the tramp style) how did she respond the first time she was bred??? refuse? flatten herself down? if she is trained to stand on command, u could try that.... have u tried leaving them in a closed room for the day/night and just sort of peering in a window or something to see if they've tied (mounted and reversed)??? my bitch did the flattening herself thing quite often but eventually, she accepted her stud.... try bringing the stud to your place; or bringing her to his place let the stud's owner manage her w/o u there ; in a crate, it wont happen try an experienced stud ; one that knows his job on command (yes they learn to stud on command, and dont waste precious time jumping on every available bitch, or hesitating and not getting on with the job; some studs, like with horses, know which leash and collar is for 'work' and which is for daily living activities), so he wont give up when u approach to help him.... many dogs need the help and an experienced stud wont give up when his owner manages the bitch we used a leash to keep one bitch lifted up (under hind legs, and someone held her from the front) for the stud to mount her; she wasnt pleased but the stud performed and it worked (once he mounted and tied, she couldnt do much about it anyway)
petsoul Posted June 30, 2006 Author Posted June 30, 2006 it seems that you have a lot of experience! Well the bleeding stops already and I couldn't do much about that.. She actually refused to be bred, and I didn't leave her the night cos the stud owner won't allow it. Till next time then.. sob..
bina Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 dogs, goats, alpacas , horses.... w/photos of all that she isnt used to the place u bring her to, could also be problematic.... its best to have te bitch stay over for a week so she gets used to the place and the stud; bringing her just for the day to a strange place could also affect her.... they are like us in that psychological factors play a part in the breeding.... good luck next time....
