nakotic
My Nouvo SX has started flashing up an error code "Er_1". The bike has 4,000km on the clock and is just over a year old. If I switch on the ignition and wait 10 seconds it starts flashing that code, also the engine light and temp gauge are flashing. The bike starts no problem but still flashes up the error code. I thought it may be water level but I've checked that and it's fine. I've googled it and nothing comes up, I know I should take it to a Yamaha garage but as it's Sunday there's none open and I don't want to take it to the local Somchai for obvious reasons. Anyone had this happen to them and knows what it is ?
yankee99
The only time mine did that was when the battery needed replacing.

ktm jeff
Daft as it sounds but the battery can have enought power for the starter but not enought for the fuel injection system. Have it checked (drop test) or try a mates battery.
nakotic
Sorted, seems it was the block connector into the back of the speedo, a quick clean and it all appears ok now.
ktm jeff
Nice one. You can get special electrical grease for connectors. May be wise to check all other connectors.

Richard-BKK
The Yamaha 125 SX has a design flaw, problem is that water can enter the meter unit. The problems is that it will effect the electronics, the fix is to use electronic contact spray from various manufacturers which will shield the contact from water.... The problem is that most of this water displacement products are petrol based, which in time will effect the plastic inside the meter casing united (which is not made to have petrol contact... ).
