Sheryl Posted August 1, 2014 Share Posted August 1, 2014 Both are antibiotics of the "nitrofuran" class. They will be useful for diarrhea only if the diarrhea was caused by a susceptible bacteria or protozoa which is often not the case. Like all antibiotics they will also wipe out normal gut flora which can make diarrhea worse so advisable only when it is reasonably certain what the cause is.
