Are tractors leased, or do you have to buy them?

It depends what time of year you want it.  Many rice farmers who own their own tractors have them sitting idle for a few months a year, and would, I am sure, be very willing to lease them out.  Ask around your village (or rather, get a Thai to ask for you!).

I live in Buriram, by the way.  Udon Thani may have leasing companies.

Why.?.

I'm having trouble when I talk to Kubota about leasing and not buying. And Isuzu too for that matter. Starting to think that leasing vehicles or machinery is not as come here as in the West.

Leasing for business/income producing is tax deductible whereas buying for same isn't.

What you are after is HIRING not Leasing, leasing here is very common to buy on long term finance, you want to hire one for a month or two. there are a few plant hire places in Loei where I live but do not see them very often in other parts.
