Cocaine disappears from French police headquarters

1 August 2014 Last updated at 18:40 BST

French police seized 50kg of cocaine which was then securely stored at the headquarters of their judicial police, but it has disappeared.

Only three senior officers had keys to the room it was in and it is still unknown what happened to the drugs.

If it was stolen by a corrupt officer or officers it could prove serious problems for the force, but some theorise it may have been moved as part of internal political wrangling amongst the officers.

This is the French Police and not the constabulary of a banana republic . So, the second explanation is more likely to be true. But, if it was competition between different departments, then the French government should think of restructuring their police forces, I guess.

(50 kg = more than 6 mio Euro)

Et 'as gon up a wery big noze!

"Inspector Clouseau, what is the white powder on your moustache?"

"Pardon moi, messieur, I found some powdered tooth whitener in ze trunk I took to Timbuktu in 1937, and am still trying to get ze hang of using it for ze teeth," (as he licks it off, starry eyed).
It wasn't Clouseau, it was his boss Dreyfus:

Strange nobody has yet linked this to Mr.T who was recently in Paris.
