August 5, 201411 yr I'm a Brit with 1 page left in passport which is a bit tatty. Non B Visa due for renewal in October. Should/Can I get a new passport in Chang Mai before I go for visa? Advise please.
August 5, 201411 yr You have to apply in Bangkok. The application is then sent to UK. You then have to return to Bangkok to collect the new one. At the moment the process is taking months. Here is 97 pages on the subject. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/713867-changes-to-british-passport-services-in-thailand/
August 5, 201411 yr Are you getting a new multiple entry non-b visa or an extension of stay immigration. Even if you applied for a new passport today you might not have it by October. You will have to do your application in Bangkok. See: https://www.gov.uk/overseas-passports/y/thailand
August 5, 201411 yr Thanks for that...looks like I'll have to risk the last page! From what I've read CM immigration are quite helpful and know about the f....p.. problems with the British passport renewal . It could be a good idea to go in to them and ask for their advice. At the moment you should get a replacement passport in about 3 months if there are no delays ;) ;)
August 5, 201411 yr PLEASE HELP!!! I applied for a new passport in April and have not recieved my new passport (I am South African). I will go to my embassy next week for an emergency passport, and my visa is not exactly "clean" (overstay). Any advise?? What will happen to me? I am so scared as I don't want to be deported or go to prison. I am planning on getting married next year to a Thai (don't think that would make any difference as they would probably not care). Please give me some advise (a glimmer of hope!!!!!!!)

Get the emergency passport, reserve a flight out to someplace where you can get a tourist visa and pay the overstay on the way out to the country.
