torrow
Hi, please bear with me. All these new rules are giving me a headache. I'm over 60 but not quite a pensioner yet. I'm having a relationship with a Thai lady. I've been to Thailand 2 times so far to ensure we are OK together in real before getting married. Timetable is like this: My first visit was in February, 30 days visa exemption at airport. Back to UK for 2 months. Next visit in May, 60 day tourist visa from Thai embassy London. Now I'm back in the UK for 2 months. Now we want at least 6 months together before committing to marriage. What is the best way to do this with a view to relocating to Thailand. As I understand it, a retirement visa needs me to put a big lump into a Thai bank which I cannot do. Thanks
paz
Get a double entry tourist visa, each entry is 60 days. You extend each entry for further 30 days, Bt 1,900 at immigration.
torrow
Thanks for the reply. So I assume therefore I must leave Thailand before the visa extension expires and re-enter with the second entry? Can this be by land or should I fly somewhere? Sorry if this seems rather trivial, but I've spent hours reading through the forum and still cannot figure out what to do for the best. ubonjoe
You can do your 2nd entry by land, sea or air it does not matter. Just be sure you do it before the enter before date on your visa.
