Hi,

I don't work in Thailand, I used to, and as such I have friends and a girlfriend there.

I now have another job which allows me to work at sports events anywhere. Unsurprisingly I apply for everywhere in and around Thailand. I tend to go to these events, then spend the time in between in Thailand.

So since April I've spent a total of 55 days in Thailand on 5 separate entries. Which seems totally fine as the rules are you can't spend a total of more than 90 days in Thailand in a 6 month period.

'll be heading back to Asia soon. I am wondering whether this activity on my passport would cause any kind of questions or suspicion? it hasn't so far yet, I think it's clear if you aren't staying the full 30 days each time you aren't exploiting the rules to live and work there.

When I hit the 80 day mark, will they stamp me back in for just ten days, or do you think I'll get the standard 30 day entry (do they check thoroughly)?  Should I have a flight out of Thailand at that point to aid my re-entry?

Also, as hitting the 80 day mark will happen in October (6 months on from April) will the days from April begin dropping off? Basically so long as I've been in Thailand less days in October than I was in April, I should be OK?

And getting something like an educational visa when I intend to head home in November to stay for Christmas seems a bit excessive. How short a time could you get an educational visa for?

Thanks in advance for the advice and the constructive abuse if you feel I'm exploiting the system or anything,
Mark

As mentioned very often. That rule was repealed in Nov 2008.

You can come on visa exempt as often you want  unless exploiting the privilege for the purpose of working in Thailand.
