I visit a weather site now and again and for Samui it always says 'scattered showers'. I know that at any time of year you can get a shower but surely scattered showers is pushing it a bit!

So, firstly, what's the weather like at the moment? And, can anyone recommend a reliable weather site?

Thank you sbk, you are a star! I was not desperate to know, just curious as here in liverpool we have been having a 'heatwave'. I suppose that makes you more curious about 'abroad'.

I think it will be Christmas before I can get to Samui! However, I am in the land of the Swiss in August. I will let you know where we are going and see if we are close enough to call on you.

Jesus, better get my flat cleaned!! It would be great to see you both again on "home territory". There is a great festival all around the lake in Geneva in August with live music, fireworks, food stalls etc.

Me, I'm already booked for Samui in May!! Long time away but something to look forward to during the cold winter months.

Oh no! I just found out that we land and immediately get a train for a two hour journey deep into the mountains. So, (boo hoo) won't be able to meet up, what a bummer!!!
