paul2510
I did notice 2 cars which had been clamped this morning on Soi Pan just near the Bangkok Christian School in Sathorn. Apart from the clamp there was a host of other tickets posted under the windscreen wipers. This was at 6:30 this morning, and typically the drivers only leave the cars for 10 to 15 mins to walk the kids to school, there again there is a mass of signs to advise no parking and usually in front of the school is at least 4 policeman managing the cars dropping of the kids, and they actually do a good job. Prbkk
No clamping, no tow aways...these cars should be put through the crusher, preferably with the owner inside..just like in Goldfinger.

Naroge
Lower Sukhumvit has worked fine for a couple of months now. You seldom see a wrongly parked car now, but if you do, it normally gets clamped. Keep up the good job.
Popular Post Jeremy50
Instead of D-Day maybe it should be called T-Day to reflect the extra money to be made by not clamping certain vehicles. I presume the last sentence should read ' inconvenience ' to people living in sois. How does that work? If the vehicle is parked, by definition, it's probably going to be unoccupied so who is going to provide the "extra money". Although some cars are technically very advanced these days, I don't think any of them have the facility to be able to dispense cash on demand. I think he may be referring to the idea that some vehicles owners may make suitable donations to the right people, or be connected to the right people so that their vehicles never get towed away, clamped, or receive any kind of fine no matter where and when they park. Last clampdown I was on my way into BKK driving down Soi Ekkamai mid morning. Some person had "parked" their nice Fortuna on the main road whilst enjoying the delights at a cafe. Totally blocked the inside lane and created a massive tail back with buses, lorries, side car vendors, taxis and the ubiquitous motorbikes all vying to push into the outside lane. The police were nowhere to be seen. I was delayed about 25 mins before I got by. Let's see how many Benz, Porsche and Bentley's get clamped. If everyone had beeped their horn when they went past the cafe he would soon have got the message. I doubt anyone did though. I use my horn as I would in Europe.......often. People who act selfishly need to be........corrected.

FangFerang
I doubt the red bull heir would be clamped ever. It seems an assault on the lower middle class. "Do not park illegally unless your uncle/cousin/third time removed is a general." Most people won't care about details as long as the crap is seriously reduced. Or will they? Yes, but half the fun is giving them the big bird salute and then finding out. Works every time.
pieeyed
So how did the clamping campaign go? I did not see any change in parking habits around Thon Lor or Ekamai?
