Help in extending 2 month tourist visa to 3 month (issued from Thai Embassy)

Featured Replies

G'day, I applied for and received a 3 month tourist visa at the Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, entering the Kingdom using it. I was give 60 days at the Airport and understand that I need to apply to have the remaining 30 days 'activated' or applied. Can someone explain the process of doing this? I suspect I need to attend an Immigration Office, present my Passport (and visa), probably pay a fee and receive a new visa date stamp in my Passport. Am I close to the mark? I realise this will be a simple thing to many people, but it's my first time on this type of visa. Thanks in advance.

You can apply for a 30 day extension of your 60 day entry at any immigration office if you have a local address to put on the application form. You can apply early and loose nothing because the 30 days will start at the end of your 60 days.

You will need to complete a TM7 form and attach a 4cm X 6CM photo. You will need a copy of your passport photo page, visa, entry/permited to stay stamp and TM6 departure card (it is stapled in your passport on arrival).

The fee is 1900 baht.

Awesome ubonjoe, clear (and quick) answer. I was hoping to minimise the number of 'days lost' by not trying to do the process early, but your answer tells me early reporting is not a problem. I appreciate your help, thanks very much.
