I have accounts ( on-line banking ) opened at the HSBC Bank here in the USA. Can I use the Bangkok branch and access my monies when I move to BKK next year? If so, are their many HSBC ATM's in BKK ( I have a debit card )?

I got Visa- and MC-cards issued by HSBC. Can be used to withdraw money from their ATM, which are, AFAIK, only at BKK office of the bank at Rama 4-road. Each withdrawal is charged with HK$ 50.00 (abt US$ 7.00)

Your card should work, however, also with ATM of other banks for a fee, of course.
