drtreelove
I've never had experience growing tamarind trees, but your question got me thinking and searching. There are two types of inoculation that you could consider since tamarind is a legume, one is for the nitrogen fixing bacteria and the other is with mycorrhizal fungi. I believe both would be very beneficial. And consider good soil preparation with soil analysis and prescription mineral and biological amendments. Before planting you have a great opportunity to grow and plow in a cover crop, incorporate deficient nutrients, organic matter, humates, granite rock dust or Azomite, and mycorrhizae. Then a good mulching and irrigation program for maintenance. Early tree structural pruning can create a strong and durable structural integrity for these large growing trees. http://books.google.com/books?id=QhtZLMVPLIIC&pg=PA68&lpg=PA68&dq=inoculating+tamarind+trees&source=bl&ots=vCeToQ7e2i&sig=5USEcTZKG7Glm_DgXgJerQIvwro&hl=en&sa=X&ei=wG4DVL7TMMO3igKzuIG4AQ&ved=0CCMQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=inoculating%20tamarind%20trees&f=false
NeverSure
If you can't find the inoculants in LOS, you can get them from Amazon.
