Nongprue cleans out East Pattaya storm drains

PATTAYA:--Nongprue authorities cleaned out storm-drainage pipes to mitigate flooding during rainy season.

Mayor Mai Chaiyanit ordered workers to clean out pipes on Mab Yai Lia Sois 6-8 and Soi Nernplabwan Aug. 28 following complaints from residents there.

Thongchai Kumlangthai, director of the Nongprue Sanitation Department, led the crews to vacuum out wastewater and sewage drains, clearing out rocks, trash and leaves.

At least they are doing this before the wet season, a few years ago I watched as the drains in Pattaya were systematicly cleaned in the month or so after the rains had finished.
