Have been following the latest changes for a while and then gave up at some point and decided to just take my chances.
Now one thing that was mentioned quite a bit was that it is advisable to have 20.000THB ready when entering Thailand, as some officers might be questioning your ability to sustain yourself here without illegal work.

Been on a triple tourist visa before (my first one ever) and returned on another triple visa one month later (bc still had condo-contract left), both aquired in my home country, Germany.

I will now go and spend some time in Vietnam and intend to activate my second entry on return by plane.

I simply donot want to carry 20.000THB with me.
Could I just get it from the ATM at the Thai-airport, in case they demand it? Cannot recall any ATM prior to the passport checkpoint.

I donot have a exit ticket out of Thailand yet either. That was another thing that I remember that was mentioned quite a lot, though it kinda defies the logic of a multiple entry visa.

Thx!

Well, I entered Thailand at DMK just the other day -- from Vietnam, I might add -- on the first of a double entry tourist visa, and they didn't ask to see any money. They almost didn't accept the visa though -- even when I showed a bank statement with the equivalent (in US dollars) of a lot more than B20,000.

So you aquired it in Vietnam, right?

How did you manage to convince them?

How is it they hand out mulptiple entries and have people potentially end up being deported from the airport (which I guess is what will happen)?

May I ask about your nationality?

Banks statements don't count. If they want to see the cash, you show the cash, and mention that you have a lot more.

I'm from the U.S. An (I believe) higher ranking officer reversed the more junior officer's decision to not let me in; the whole story is at http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/757850-double-entry-tourist-visa-at-hanoi-reentery-at-dmk-successful-but/

I arrived at DMK 4 days ago and I was granted a 30 stamp at entry. I was out of the country just 2 days. I did not have to show anything, however I did have a eticket out within the 30 days and I had the 20K cash but I did not have to show either. All went well.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHEN YOU SAY ''THEY ALMOST DIDN'T ACCEPT THE VISA THOUGH''..??????????????...

The officer I was dealing with in effect told me it was not possible to be in the country as long as I had been on tourist visas. Eventually I was let in; but if they hadn't accepted the visa, what would have happened? Would they have stamped me in for 30 days? Less? Told me to board the next flight out of Thailand? I have no idea.

I posted the whole incident at http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/757850-double-entry-tourist-visa-at-hanoi-reentery-at-dmk-successful-but/

Hmmm okay.
I kinda understand as these kind of records could suggest we might be here for different reasons other than what our visa indicates.

But then they should not hand out these visas.
