Chinese tourist drowns in waters off Koh Phi Phi

PHUKET: A 61-year-old Chinese tourist drowned while vacationing in Koh Phi Phi on Friday (September 5).

Rescuers attempted to save Yuhua Wang, 61, after pulling her out of the water. She was transferred to Vachira Hospital for treatment later in the day.

Shortly before 7pm, Ms Wang was pronounced dead by doctors.

Too many people drown down there. They need better signs around, in all languages, explaining the current and rip tides.
