Well, I intend to vacation on my multi entry tourist visa long enough for my university semester to start in Bangkok. It starts in March. Where should I go if I don't plan to go home?

Until we start getting better reports for Ranong I suggest you use a different crossing.

Or you could buy a cheap one way ticket to a nearby country to show them.
