I might have to take 3/4 months off before we transfer to a new Jackup. I have an offer from Weatherford as Chief Rig Mechanic onshore. Has anyone here worked for them and any idea what they pay for that position please?

i haven't worked for them but know lads who have and have never heard an really bads comments from them, the normal slagging off companies get, but nothing too serious

as regards the pay, no idea, but suspect seeing as its land based, it will depend where "land" is ? Thailand on the land rigs or somewhere else, as I guess this is what will govern your beer token rate...

It's in Oman. I worked there a lot and like the place. Best place in ME to work IMO.

if it was me, I would be going for at least your offshore rate then I guess...

There's absolutly no chance i'll get this day rate on land mate. Only reason i'll do it is because i'd get bored at home for 3/4 months.
