VIDEO: Phuket tiger attack victim 'bears no grudges'
The Phuket News

PHUKET: -- Tiger attack victim Paul Goudie today (October 23) spoke with Phuket News TV about his experience at Tiger Kingdom in Kathu, saying he bore no grudge against the tiger or Tiger Kingdom, whose staff and management, he said, were “absolutely brilliant”.

The Australian said that it was “just one of those things that happen. I begged that the cat not be destroyed and they said, ‘No. The cat won’t be destroyed. It will be sent off for retirement.’”

The management of the facility yesterday theorised that the tiger might have bitten him on both legs and his belly because it thought he was assaulting staff who were helping him to his feet.

Mr Goudie came up with another theory. “I went for an elephant ride probably an hour earlier and I don’t know if there was some smell on me that made the tiger turn. I don’t know.”

Tiger Kingdom today closed its main enclosures where tourists can sit with adult tigers.

Maybe the tiger was watching his health and wanted white meat?

Tigers are wild animals, they are not pets.

People have to realize that, zoos have to realize that.

He had a lucky escape.

I wish him better, but I hope this will be a lesson to other people.

Is that the Tim Shaw of 'but wait, there's more' fame doing the bedside interview?

inactive post...officials and tigers, same same

Even if there raised around humans since birth, they still have wild instincts, I would never do such a thing.

We can warn people about the folly of being next to a wild animal but you can't stop stupid people being stupid.
