Anwar in court for sodomy case appeal



KUALA LUMPUR: -- Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to be in Federal Court 1 where his sodomy case appeal will be heard today, according to New Straits Times.

He arrived earlier at the Palace of Justice in Putrajauya with with his wife PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Ismail.

A small group of PKR Youth members also arrived at Palace of Justice ahead of opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s final appeal against the Court of Appeal’s decision which sentenced him to five years’ jail in a sodomy case involving Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.

At the nearby Tuanku Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin mosque, another small group of PKR members gathered.

Security was tight in the compound of Palace of Justice. Those who wanted to enter the gallery were subjected to security checks, including journalists, some of whom had waited since 6am.

Last night, Anwar’s supporters had forced themselves into Universiti Malaya’s compound to allow the PKR’s de facto leader to drive in and delivered a 20-minute speech in front of Dewan Tunku Cancelor. Anwar then went to Subang Jaya where he delivered another speech.

This case is so transparently bogus. Makes Malaysia a laughingstock, in the same "Justice League" as our poor beloved Thailand.

Know a few people that graduated at University Malaya and known Anwar. They hate the government of UMNO but do say Anwar was always Bi and his whole reformasi rubbish came only out after he was fired by PM.

So I don't trust Anwar even 5cm.

He should just get it that he will not be a PM of Malaysia and retire and let Malaysia develop withour a former UMNO Deputy PM. MCA/MIC are finish and so is Anwar but he will go on.

More than his rhetoric, Anwar is the uniting figure for the non-UMNO coalition (basically the Chinese and Indian communities, though there are a few ethnic Malays in there). The only other opposition is PAS, which is the Muslim fringe, and the UMNO crowd usually seems to placate them. Hey, now there's a scenario -- PAS unseats UMNO, and sends aid to ISIS!
