Giving a tip in Thai mean encourage people who working in service department to gave a good service?. Tip and service charge is different for me. Some people think they had service charge then no tip. At the moment instead of topping service charge from your wage business owner they used that service charge to pay in salary.(happen everywhere in thailand)

In USA, there was rule about tipping different from Japan.

If you gave tip to Japanese that mean you are insulting them( they might commit karakiri infront of you ) Even tip it was not a thai culture but we learnt from respectation another and we cant get any excuse about pay tip not thai culture. I gave tips even i dont like their foods, massages, taxi...etc..

Tip 50baht just a quid that can keep them smile and next time they remember you. Why not? Thai people who working in services job they are not just expected the word "Thank you very much"

I understand many people are differents but some small things can appear that who you are. And the react of another.

My wife always tips heavy. If we need 10 men for unloading something heavy, she calls the motorbike guys and 10 min later they are here. If she needs a taxi she calls and it is here on the double speed.

Not just out of wanting the money, because people see in her a generous lady.....

The unusual thing was that I was going to today, pen a topic on Tipping in Thailand, but from a Thai's perspective.

Just that I hadn't framed the question correctly in my head.
