ClutchClark
sounds about right.....RTP an enigma It just happened Wednesday Night...48 hours ago. How does the family know whether its being investigated--48 hours would be the initial stage of an investigation anywhere in the world. So your post strongly suggests it was based on prejudice and not from any intelligence on your part.
Carl64
Khun Amnoi aged 30 completed a Police Report at Pattaya Police Station, but was told that this was a common assault and the investigation went no further. So is this right that common assault is not investigated????
craigt3365
From the article: The family of the deceased man were angry at the Police and the local media for not publishing details of the fight, but with details of the case now in the hands of the Pattaya Police Chief, the investigation into the assault, which has now been elevated to a murder investigation, is now well underway.

ClutchClark
Khun Amnoi aged 30 completed a Police Report at Pattaya Police Station, but was told that this was a common assault and the investigation went no further. So is this right that common assault is not investigated???? If you read the article carefully, it indicates there were atleast two victims. One suffered a minor assault (your caption) and the other suffered severe head trauma which later resulted in death and which an investigation had been underway. Mot Dang
Common assault? Ok I understand what that is, but if someone is killed in a so-called "common assault" why is it not investigated as a murder ? TIT
emilymat
Common assault? Ok I understand what that is, but if someone is killed in a so-called "common assault" why is it not investigated as a murder ? TIT ..or at least manslaughter. (Dunno about Thai law but I think the question of intent by the perp needs to be considered. But, you are right, it's much more than a routine common assault I would have thought)

Travelman868
It seems the police have now issued an arrest warrant for a motorcycle taxi driver, who was involved in the altercation. The were 2 people hurt in the fight 1 was minor and the other serious. The police should have gone to the pub to investigate as it was possible 1 boy may die.
