Sydneycraig Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Anywhere to buy (not restaurants to eat)
Rooo Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 I get mine sent down from Chiang Mai, old sponsor Sausage King. http://sausagekingone.com/
rwdrwdrwd Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 (edited) Have you checked Tops? They often have decent imported Irish cumberland ones in the freezer (they taste decent despite being frozen) I've always found them in Surat and Trang tops before so would suspect they are also in Samui which has more westerners. Not cheap though, about 250 - 300 baht for 6. Edited November 12, 2014 by rwdrwdrwd
Sydneycraig Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 (edited) Same price as 2 crap ones in a tatty restaurant will go take a look cheers Edited November 12, 2014 by Sydneycraig
Tropicalevo Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 They have the frozen Irish Cumberland in Tops at Central Festival - near the checkouts. I quite like the pork Cumberland in Makro. They also do beef Cumberland and chicken Cumberland (???)
ysamui Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Try these, (in no particular order) I am no expert, so its best for you to try and decide.Samui Sausages: MaretAdrian: 0842245764, 0869429279http://kohsamui-web.com/sale-other/samui-sausage/ Samui Home Made Food (formerly, Big Joes): Banrak,077 427597, 087 627 0779http://www.samuitimes.com/big-joes-sausage-and-pie-shop/ http://www.samuihomemadefood.com/sausages-meats/ Choice Foods, Choeng Mon (opposite gasoline station)077 417435, 077417046https://www.facebook.com/choicefoods.samui All Star, ChawengTel: 07 7484524, 07 7425148, 07 7300304, 08 62 721113 1
notmyself Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 They also do beef Cumberland and chicken Cumberland (???) It could be argued that 'Cumberland' refers to a specific blend of herbs and spices I suppose.
Beng Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Makro has frozen cumberlands at 220 Baht/kilo.
Sydneycraig Posted November 16, 2014 Author Posted November 16, 2014 Yes, I got from makro ... TGM ones ate good
rwdrwdrwd Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Try the ones from Tops, I bet you'll prefer them
Tropicalevo Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Well rwd - tonight I BBQ'd the Tops ones. Definitely tasty. I usually go for the Makro ones. Summary Tops - very tasty but small and expensive (comparatively). Makro - tasty and good value for money. Big Joe - it's been so long since I have been able to buy any that I cannot remember 1
