Thailand courts and justice system could learn something from the Saudia's. Might stop some of the killings in LOS. Stop smiling and start Hanging killers.

The only thing the Thais might learn from this is that it is OK to take ten years to try a murder case.

Why is it in any civilized country, a murder trial can be completed in 6 to 18 months?

The Thai justice system need a complete rebuild from top to bottom.

Takes that long to execute a convicted killer in the US, doesn't it?

Yes it does somstimes take a lot longer to exhaust the appeals process, which is, of course, ridiculous, but from arrest to a result seldom takes more than a year.

If the victim had any minor children they are often consulted, after reaching their majority, on what they wish to happen to the murderer.

Under Shariah in Saudi, if the victim agrees to a monetary payout, the murderer can be set free.

If the victim's family members don't agree to receiving payment, the King will very likely give his approval for the execution and the beheading will take place fairly soon on a Friday afternoon in a public square.

Justice is normally pretty swift in the Magic Kingdom.
