arunsakda Posted November 21, 2014 Share Posted November 21, 2014 Very interesting but the despite its appearance the part of wasabi that one grates is actually the stem of the plant, it grows above ground. It has a large fibrous root system. The leaves are also edible. A wonderful plant really. It would be great to get some fresh stuff locally but the climate does not suit cultivation of Wasabi Japonica, in Chiang Mai.
