Hi all,

Just looking for a bit of advice I have visa exemption (30 day) stamps in my passport on 03/11/13, 08/12/13, 02/04/14 and 29/04/14.

I also have a 7 day visa extension from Chaeng Wattana Immigration office on 29/11/13 (extended my stay to 09/12/13).

I will arrive in Thailand on 08/12/14 and plan to stay 1 or 2 nights before leaving for the Philippines and will return to Thailand around 22/12/14.

I may then take a short trip out of Thailand for a few nights around new year or first week of January and will finally leave Thailand on 25/01/14.

Will I have a problem getting back into Thailand on a 30 visa exemption (I'm British) as is there a maximum 6 stamps now? Should I get a tourist visa?

Thanks for your help

There's no maximum. Apparently some officers at Don Mueang airport claim that, and then the person is let in normally.

I was told very firmly by a supervisor at Don Muang that I can only make six visa exempt entries. She claimed for the life of the passport which I find hard to believe. But was indeed let in in the end.

Leaving today from Swampy so will query this with immigration. Not expecting much clarification though as they have to back each other up.

Also coming back through swampy in three days time and may try a visa exempt entry even though I will have a 60 day tourist visa in my passport.

I am only staying for two weeks before leaving again. Then back for two or three days and then out again for a couple of weeks then back for maybe a week...

Problem is that this pattern looks like visa running unless they bother to check the exact dates. Thinking about summarising my trips for them and handing it over with my passport.

Have done it several times before when I didn't want to waste a visa entry. A helpful immigration officer in Phuket once explained to me you write "no visa" in the space for visa number on your immigration card. At the time I didn't know you could get a reentry for a tourist visa.

But this was a few years ago in happier times.
