Michael Brown shooting: Ferguson jury reaches verdict

(BBC) A grand jury has made a decision on whether to charge a Missouri police officer over the death of an unarmed black teenager.

His family confirmed that the jury's decision is expected to be announced later on Monday.

Michael Brown, 18, was killed by Darren Wilson on 9 August in the St Louis suburb of Ferguson, Missouri.

His death sparked protests, sometimes violent, as police were criticised for using military grade riot gear.

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has declared a state of emergency in the area and called in 400 National Guard troops in anticipation of protests, should charges not be filed in the case.

A White House spokesman said that President Barack Obama had urged those who wished to protest against the jury's decision to "do so peacefully".

The whiners are already whining and nothing to whine about has happened yet.

The news is saying it will be announced at 8:00 PM CST, It's 7:41 right now. 20 minutes.

Announcing that late and withholding announcement makes me wonder if they are gearing up for a backlash from a decision not to charge.

We'll see.

Edit: Officials are calling for "mutual respect and restraint."

Darren Wilson has not been asked to turn himself in. Speculation, but tends to indicate no indictment.

Rest assured, no matter what happens the race-baiters and rabble-rousers will find something to whine about.

Again, I say . . . let these losers have a plot of land to burn to the ground. Just cage them in so they cannot hurt honest business owners and people trying to live better lives.

It's cold out let's have the protest at an upscale shopping mall in St Louis

Lol, I am sure they will be grabbing some TVs and Adidas.

If nothing else, pop some pop corn and tune in. Not much else you can do.

Official decision; Not to charge.

Oh <deleted>, the scum bags are trying to screw with the police line.

God, can you imagine being a poor cop out there who did nothing wrong but is sitting in the middle of a powder keg.

For instance early someone said Brown was shot in the back. When the films showed that not to be true, that testimony was withdrawn.

The physical evidence shows that there was a foot chase where Brown stopped and turned and came back toward the officer. That's when he was shot.

Officer Wilson will not be indicted after a careful examination of all the evidence. Justice has been served. clap2.gif

However, what comes next with Al Sharpton and the other racial agitators? hit-the-fan.gif.pagespeed.ce.6UelFDbFNJ.

Let's hope no-one get's hurt now, and that there will be no riots....

I bet no one in that baying crowd wanted an indictment.

They are obviously there for a riot and now they have their excuse to have one.

Michael Brown shooting: Ferguson grand jury does not indict officer Darren Wilson
Nick O'Malley
US correspondent for Fairfax Media

A white police officer will not face charges over the fatal shooting of an unarmed black teenager in August.

Amid rising tensions on the streets of Ferguson, a St Louis County grand jury declined to indict officer Darren Wilson, 28, for firing shots that killed 18-year-old Michael Brown, St Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch said.

Brown, an 18-year-old African American, was shot dead after he was pulled over by the Mr Wilson in August while walking down the middle of the road with a friend, Dorian Johnson.

Mr Wilson says Brown leant through his window and attacked him, at which time two shots were fired, once of them hitting Brown's arm. According to Mr Wilson, Brown then ran away, stopped and turned to lunge at him, at which point he shot Brown at least six times.

According to evidence presented Brown and his friend had been earlier stolen cigars from a local store, and Mr Wilson considered them suspects for the theft.

His friend Mr Johnson said Brown was first shot as he fled and was attempting to surrender with his hands in the air when the fatal shots were fired.

Michael Brown protests are scheduled for 83 cities in the US... There are those that are hell-bent on creating racial division in the US, the more violent the better... They foster it, feed it and hope it takes hold like some kind of Arab Spring movement... TPTB didn't get their way with the Trayvon Martin case, so they move on to Michael Brown... If they don't succeed here, next it will be an unarmed, illegal, pregnant latina that gets shot down in the street...

I wonder what Al Sharpton is advising the President?

Dumb <deleted> busting windows out of police cars.

I wonder what Al Sharpton is advising the President?

I kept hoping after he made a complete fool of himself over the

Tawana Brawley case, he would have faded away as a race

baiting moron. Yet he is still around. Sigh......... Hard to

even imagine him advising the President.

I'm no hippie, but a little food for thought:

I guess it wont bite, one the 'Merica boys in here - but maybe, normal people will reflect a little on the numbers mentioned. wai.gif

Lol, Obama on TV calling for peace with craziness going on in the background.

Maybe the thinking is that a lot of the crowd will go inside to watch Monday Night Football at 8 pm. That'll leave the anarchists and the out of towners to deal with.

The decision to clear Officer Wilson of any wrong doing was certainly predictable. Hopefully, the couple of haters on this site who kept referring to Officer Wilson as a killer, will take a nap and reflect on their repeated inappropriate posts.

Bottles being thrown at police, tear gas being fired and reports of gunshots. No surprise really.

He killed someone so he is a killer! It would seem that he is not a murderer! Which is good! Now the officer hasn't been indicted have they released all the evidence?
