Hi folks,

Is there some problem with the First Car Tax rebates that you know of? My sister-in-Law bought her first car in Oct 2012. About one year ago now she received a 50% rebate but since then nothing. Is there a problem with this rebate as they stated in the press earlier this year that it would all be cleared by the end of June this year?

OP there have been lots of problems but I have never heard of only 50% being paid - are you sure that was not the full amount due?

Has she not queried this with the local office disbursing the funds?

I also have never heard of only 50% of the rebate being paid.

Not all cars were eligible for the full 100K Baht limit - some were only eligible for as little as 13K rebate.

What did she buy?
